norway rock
09 - 12 July 2009 Kvinesdal, Norway
08 - 11 July 2010
background
Starting out in 2006 Kvinesdal Rock Festival will be held annually with this year's event taking place between 12 - 15 July. Formed by a handful of idealists who had money to invest in the festival, it is run completely with the help of volunteers with no one actually hired to work fulltime.
Norway Rock Festival is arranged by the foundation Norway Rock Kvinesdal.
The foundation was founded on 11 November 2008 and consists mainly of the same people who started Kvinesdal Rock Festival and changed the name to Norway Rock Festival. We chose to be a foundation to show everyone that we are doing this for fun, and not in order to make money off it. Any surplus will stay in the foundation
Contrary to many other festivals they have chosen a rather narrow scope when it comes to type of music. In order to offer something to the youngsters they have no age limit on the Thursday, where they choose mainly bands for young rockers.
This way Norway Rock hopes that you as a part of the audience experience as many favourite bands as possible in addition to new bands up the same alley. The arena itself has a long history as a place for parties – big and small. 2009 is the fourth year the festival is being arranged here.
