MetalFest is a new festival coming to the UK between 25 - 27 September 2009. It is an indoor event that will cater for most metal genres... Power, prog, thrash, doom, heavy etc.
As the event takes place over three days there will be three headliners, and this year will see Blaze Bayley on Friday night, Primal Fear on Saturday night and Evergrey on the Sunday night. Day and weekend tickets are available from the website - see below for links.
MetalFest is the brainchild of Mark Owen who has been touring bands for the past ten years or more, catering mainly for the hard rock fans with bands such as Gotthard, Sebastian Bach, Vain, Winger etc, so this festival is a completely new entity. Looking at the metal genre in general, and what is offered to the fans, Mark realised there was a niche in the market for an indoor event such as this, whilst Bloodstock has gone onto bigger things.
Being one of the premier venues in the midlands for 40 years JBs seemed the obvious choice for the venue. The venue itself has capacity of just over 900 so tickets are limited and is within walking distance of five or so hotels of reasonable value.
So, for anyone who's not quite ready for their festivals to be over for another year, MetalFest is the place to be this September!

Accommodation options, ie camping, are being looked into by the organiser. In the meantime hotels are available in the Dudley area:

This is a 14+ event but all 14 - 17 yar olds MUST be accompanied by an adult and MUST NOT consume alcohol on the premises.
Failure to comply with these regulations will mean that the person in question would have to be removed from the venue.
When ordering tickets for a 14 – 17 year old, please state this when purchasing!
