At first listening it may be surprising that this is only the second album from Swedish rockers Bonafide as it almost goes without saying that their sounds is very much of the classic or hard rock genre! This album could have been released any time from the 70s onwards (but obviously with a finely tuned modern production) as it has that sort of sound that, while rooted in the beginnings of rock, has never gone out of fashion.

Something’s Dripping has a real laid back and up-beat sound to it, some good old fashion riffs and the wonderfully named Pontus Snibb has that sort of vocal style that really hits the nail on the head, just a bit rough but really powerful.

Bonafide sound like a combination of AC/DCs riffs and the energy of the Black Crowes rolled into something else. Everything works perfectly, the drums create a beat that would get most people up dancing (it’s probably impossible to listen to this album without at least toe tapping or nodding the head) and the guitars are just so catchy and have a nice crunch to them. You can even hear the bass perfectly, it really is a sum of many excellent parts rolled into something fantastic.

There’s something about this album that makes you feel like you are driving home, proper road trip music! So whack this on the stereo, fill the tank and head out on the highway and try not to have too much fun!!
